Back to School

As we start thinking about our classroom arrangements, the students wewill encounter, and the curriculum we are to teach, our heads begin toswirl with ideas. How do you see Moodle helping you with all of thedistrict level requests you receive? Instead of relying on email, do youthink teachers will respond and follow a Moodle site just forElementary Curriculum issues? What are your thoughts?See More

I like this:

I am responsible.

Although I may not be able to prevent the worst from happening, I am responsible for my attitude toward the inevitable misfortunes that darken life.

Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life.

I can choose to…

Do you have enough Time?

Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Louis Pasteur, Michelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.~ H. Jackson Brown Jr.

What do you think?

Reading Logs

Since it is the end of our second trimester things are due. One of the things we're doing on our Moodle Site- called Moodlestein by the way, is we use a database for our Reading Log.

How it works is each student is to read 5 independent books outside of class work. They then have to input information and a summary about the books in the log.

It makes it easy for me to keep track and once they learn how to input the information it is easy for the students.

Moodle activity in Social Studies

Today I used Moodle during Social Studies. Nothing crazy.
I had the class read a lesson in their book and I posted 8 questions that I felt were good short answer questions that they could use their book to answer.

They had to use copy and paste between applications, internet access, word processing etc.

While it is an activity that I could do with pencil and paper the kids actually seemed to enjoy it.
